Instructor Bio

Ben Morris moved from Colorado to Westwood, California in the fall of 2004 to attend UCLA. Maintaining an uncommon dualism with West Coast Swing, he is a Champion Lindy Hopper; receiving the Spirit of Lindy Hop award at the 2004 National Jitterbug Championships. Ben and Melina brought their talents together for a West Coast Swing routine in the summer of 2003, and have since won many young adult titles together - most notably the Young Adult division of the 2003 US Open Swing Dance Championships.

An abbreviated list of Ben and Melina's most notable accomplishments together includes:

1st place, 2003 US Open Swing Dance Championships Young Adult division 1st place, 2003 and 2004 Boogie by the Bay Young Adult division 1st place, 2004 and 2005 Swingdiego Young Adult division 1st place, 2005 Capital Juniors Routine division 1st place, 2004 Reno Dance Sensation Open Strictly Swing 1st place, 2004 OCWCSDC All Star Jack and Jill (yes, they drew each other)

Melina Ramirez lives in Woodland Hills, California. Well versed in numerous dances in addition to West Coast Swing, she has had several years of ballroom training and is a 7 time UCWDC Country Dance World Champion. Melina is also the 2001 US Open Swing Dance Championships Young Adult champion.

Ben and Melina brought their talents together for a West Coast Swing routine in the summer of 2003, and have since won many young adult titles together - most notably the Young Adult division of the 2003 US Open Swing Dance Championships.
