Frequently Asked Questions

Just click on the question that applies to you, and you will be guided to the answer.

When I download the clips do I own them?
Yes. You own them completely and do NOT need to be online to watch them over and over again. The files transfer to your computer with no strings attached. With that in mind please don't burn them on to a cd for a friend. iDance.net is a small business started as a resource for the dance community by swing dancers. <back to top>

How do I become a member?
Go to the new member page (click here) and fill out the short membership application. You can start downloading clips immediately. <back to top>

Why won't the clip preview play on my computer?
In order for the clips to play you need a few pieces of software first. All of them are free and easy to find on the internet. You need an up-to-date version of one of the following browsers:

Internet Explorer for Windows (click here)
Safari for Mac (click here)
Internet Explorer for Mac (click here)
Mozilla Firefox (click here)

You only need one of these browsers and which one is up to you (I personally recommend Safari for Mac users and Mozilla Firefox for Windows users.)

The next piece of software you need is the newest version of:
Apple's Quicktime player for Mac (click here)
Apple's Quicktime player for PC (click here) <back to top>

I have finished downloading a clip, now what?
That depends on the operating system of your computer. If your running a Mac then it should open up the file automatically in Quicktime. If it does not then the file should be sitting on your desktop and you need only to double click on the file and it will open in Quicktime (if it does not open in Quicktime when you double click on it then open up Quicktime first, then go to file and open and select the clip.) If you are running a Windows machine then you need to find the file and double click on it. If that doesn't work you might also have to open up Quicktime first, then go to file and open and select the clip. <back to top>

I have some good moves to teach. Can I be on iDance?
That depends on several factors. The first step to becoming an iDance teacher is to fill out the 'become an iDance teacher' request form (click here) After that a team of qualified teacher-relation personell will review your request and contact you with further information. <back to top>

I want to hire one of the teachers on iDance. How do I contact them?
All you have to do is go to the 'iDance teachers' page (click here) and search our database of first rate dance teachers. There you will find bios, demo clips, teaching philosophies and contact information. Please tell your teacher you found out about them on iDance! <back to top>

Is there any way I can watch these clips on my TV instead of my computer?
Yes. iDance sells a variety of moves on DVD (click here). These DVD's are compilations of about 20 moves each and cost the same if you downloaded the moves individually. The DVD's will play in most DVD players and allow some people a better learning opportunity if their computer is in a room not conducive to dancing. <back to top>

I have a Mac. Will this work on my computer?
