The axle turn is a turn and jump in the air. Generally, there are two chaines used as the preparation for the axle turn, one chaine on releve and the other in plie so you can jump into the air. The working leg brushes front, side and then comes into passe while turning. The other leg simply tucks under the leg in passe.
